FUAN Advocate of the Month - December 2016

Congratulations to our December 2016 FUAN Advocate of the Month… Travis Grassel!

Travis Grassel of Waukee, IA is the father of two boys – Andrew (13) and Matthew (10). Travis currently is employed as Senior Actuarial Analyst with EMC Insurance in downtown Des Moines. He divorced many moons ago, and has been active in Family Law Reform in Iowa and nationally over the last five years primarily to promote equal/shared parenting.

Travis has also collaborated with many other Family Law Reform activist individuals, groups, and organizations in Iowa and around the country, trying to educate and recruit others regarding why this type of change is not only a good thing but a necessity for the future preservation of family (in all forms).

“Never in my wildest dreams did I realize how HUGE the problems were that our families face. As I delved in deeper and deeper to learn more about the details, the corruption and greed began to make me sick. It's up to us to make change happen.”

We are grateful that Travis has been named the LEAD Lobbyist for Families United Action Network. He makes a point to SHOW UP to legislative events, forums, and other venues where he can spread education and awareness. He's been to Terrace Hill to attend events with Gov. Branstad. He will soon be assisting in methods to help you help us to lobby for and with you.

This will also include lobbying directions, strategies, and events in order to show power in numbers, reach our Iowa Family Law Reform goals, and assisting Iowa members to become registered lobbyist AT NO COST.

Travis personally sees three primary reasons change is desperately needed are:

  • Our living and/or lost kids
  • Our future
  • Our health

“I hope you'll join me and all the other oppressed families in making history for a better Iowa. Take care and see you at the Capitol fighting for family law reform!” ~ Travis Grassel

We certainly will Travis.
