FUAN would like to thank and congratulate Elisha Doss of Ankeny, IA on being named the November 2018 Advocate of the Month!
Elisha receives this recognition unanimously through the FUAN Board of Directors based on her years behind the scenes and always quality work to bring awareness to Family Law Reform issues locally and throughout the United States.
Elisha Doss found the FUAN Family three years ago in the midst of her personal experience with Parental Alienation and her need to do something, anything to help end it. She’s passionate about bringing Parental Alienation into the public arena; educating people on what it is and how it happens.
Elisha was blind to its existence until she fell in love with her now-husband, Michael, who had two beautiful daughters from his previous marriage. While his divorce was in process, his ex-wife took the children to visit her sister in South Carolina and never returned. Every visit with the children after that was a struggle. Elisha and Michael learned quickly the stress, heartache and financial and emotional drain caused by divorce. Michael’s daughters were 3 and 5 at the time. They are now 15 and 17.
Elisha owns a marketing business, Bad Mama Jama Marketing and donates one project monthly to FUAN’s mission for this reason. Elisha says “A child should never have to lose their parents while they’re still living.” “It’s their God-given right to know and love them.”
She also served a one year term as the FUAN Communication Director. Helping with writing, editing, graphic design, video, website, and other communication and networking related projects. She leads the FUAN (CNC)-Communication & Networking Committee through several recognizable and timeless Family Law Reform educational pieces.
Professionally, she spends most of her time jumping in where needed at their family business, Pristine Autoworks and making her clients known on the web through website design/development, social media marketing, and SEO strategy. She uses her knowledge and expertise in graphic design to brand small businesses.
Her work experience and background are in the realms of graphic/web design, training/quality, marketing, and communications. She loves the variety of work she does and that no day is the same. Elisha is continuously growing her skills and enjoys the challenge of solving problems creatively.
She also serves on the board for Ankeny Young Professionals and is a member of Central Iowa Networkers and the Ankeny Area Chamber of Commerce. She is blessed with the flexibility to spend most of her time with her husband Michael, and their son and daughter…usually doing arts and crafts, cooking, camping/boating or having dance parties in the family room.
Being a mom to the four kids that hold her heart is the most important, challenging and rewarding role she has ever had and will ever hold. The most important things in her life are the people she shares it with. She hopes to be able to reunite with Michael's two children. She says, “I pray for their mother often, and I pray for equal rights for all parents, I hope that Family Law Reform will happen and that ALL people will be innocent until PROVEN guilty. A child’s equal access to EACH parent is instrumental in their development and in the child’s best interest to have relationships with BOTH parents.”
Elisha has gained not only knowledge but also strength through her struggles. She is determined to be part of the solution so that children will no longer feel the loss of parents because of divorce.
Congratulations, Elisha on being selected as FUANs November 2018 Advocate of the Month.
