Happy Father's Day 2019 to all of the Dads in the world from FUAN. For most fathers, this is a happy day where his kids make a point of fawning all over him.
If you'd like to know more about the history of Father's Day, like what inspired it and when it started, see History's post about it.
But for some dads, Father's Day 2019 will be painful because they have been alienated from their children. They often long to be a significant influence for their children, but for many reasons, they may not be allowed to have a big part in their kid's lives.
Please take a moment to reread our Father's Day Post from last year, Is Fathers Day 2018 Happy For You? It's still relevant in so many ways. The article is a guest post written by Jeff Janssen, an attorney from Carlisle, Iowa. Jeff is also on the Board of Directors here at FUAN.
At the end of the article, he offers a few tips if you feel you are being alienated from your child. Please check it out.
“Anyone can be a father, but it takes someone special to be a dad, and that's why I call you dad because you are so special to me. You taught me the game and you taught me how to play it right.”Wade Boggs
